Speak Up Or Else – Very Funny But Serious Videos

Have you seen the Speak Up or Else ads?  It’s a really interesting campaign against reckless driving.  It’s aimed at teens, but I’m pretty sure that all of us could learn a lesson from these.  Check out the video below and make sure to visit their web site to see the rest of the videos.  Tell me what you think of them?  Good, bad, horrible?

On the serious side, they have a few videos on the site that discuss real impacts of reckless & distracted driving.  Every day 10 teens die in a car crash, and that’s frightening.  How can we help these teens realize just how dangerous reckless driving can be?

Weight Loss Wednesday: A Fresh Start

I’ve chatted about losing weight and things along those lines for months, if not years, and after participating in the Heart Walk, the thoughts have been growing.  A few days ago, my wife issued a small challenge to me, the thought of each of us losing 10lbs by Christmas.    I like the idea of small steps.  I’ve always been focused on the end goal, and I don’t think that’s helped much.

I got an email earlier this week that today is Start! Eating Healthy Day, so I figured, hey why not!  Maybe it’s a sign you know?

So I went ahead and weighed myself, not pretty, but guess we’ll be honest.  165.5lbs!  Wasn’t that great! Awesome news! I was really surprised! Well anyways…thanks for joining me on this incredible journey of weight loss.

What? You don’t believe me?  Geesh, I think it’s perfectly acceptable that I lose 60 lbs in a few moments.  I can’t believe you don’t believe me.  WELL FINE! ;0) My real weight is 233lbs.  So my goal by Christmas Day is 223lbs.  1o lbs lost!  I’ve signed up at Start Walking Now and created my own walking plan.  16 weeks of getting healthy!  Why don’t you come join me!  Join the community and lets set some goals for ourselves and become healthier people together.

Yard Sign Love

Yard Sign Love

This wonderful photo was emailed to me by my mother (you know, the one commenting with the “i love you’s”).

Anyways, i thought it was a really interesting yard sign, and one that I’d love to hear your thoughts on. Would you be okay with your neighbor putting that up? And how would you feel about it?  I’m not looking for a discussion on Gun Rights & Such, but specifically the action of creating a sign like this in a neighborhood.

Personally, I think it’s hilarious!  But what do you think?
