Weight Loss Wednesday: A Fresh Start

I’ve chatted about losing weight and things along those lines for months, if not years, and after participating in the Heart Walk, the thoughts have been growing.  A few days ago, my wife issued a small challenge to me, the thought of each of us losing 10lbs by Christmas.    I like the idea of small steps.  I’ve always been focused on the end goal, and I don’t think that’s helped much.

I got an email earlier this week that today is Start! Eating Healthy Day, so I figured, hey why not!  Maybe it’s a sign you know?

So I went ahead and weighed myself, not pretty, but guess we’ll be honest.  165.5lbs!  Wasn’t that great! Awesome news! I was really surprised! Well anyways…thanks for joining me on this incredible journey of weight loss.

What? You don’t believe me?  Geesh, I think it’s perfectly acceptable that I lose 60 lbs in a few moments.  I can’t believe you don’t believe me.  WELL FINE! ;0) My real weight is 233lbs.  So my goal by Christmas Day is 223lbs.  1o lbs lost!  I’ve signed up at Start Walking Now and created my own walking plan.  16 weeks of getting healthy!  Why don’t you come join me!  Join the community and lets set some goals for ourselves and become healthier people together.

Kodak ThanksMan – Great Marketing for Web Gallery

Ok, so today’s cool thing blog post is going about the Kodak Thanks Man. Check out the two videos from the ThanksMan. Really very funny and a great marketing idea from Kodak! I think this is a brilliant way to market a new web product. If only we all had $15,000,000.00 worth of stuff to give away to promote our business.  Get your free gift too!

And our winner is….??????

So, a little over a month ago, we announced a contest offering a new web site to a company in need.  Suprisingly, we didn’t find many takers, but that’s okay.  The economy is booming so we’ll assume everyone is doing great.

All joking aside, we did receive an inquiry to our contest that really stood out to me.  It is an unfortunate example of a web designer gone bad, and not providing any real quality to a user.  So lets take a look at our winner, and their business model!  This will be a brief introduction…we’ll work up a full analysis with our winner when we begin the project.

Our winner is Beth Shields and her business is WoeRings.com!  WoeRings is a business focused on helping women encourage each other during difficult times.  We’re going to give her web site a complete overhaul and help her understand how to build her online business to be a success.  Stay tuned!
