SEO Losing Weight : Week 3 : A Step Back

So, this week was a tough one.  One where my focus and drive wasn’t what it should have been.  I made it to the gym 3 times, which is part of my goal, and I had no soda and no fries i succumed to fries at Red Robin last night.  All of my goals attained right? Wrong!

While I made it to the gym, I took the time to basically simply relax and hang out, versus really working out.  And this was only part of my downfall this week.  I also made the point of eating too much, and eating bad things at the wrong times.  This always happens, I get a couple of weeks in, and then bang, I hit a wall.  This time I’m breaking out though, breaking through.  Real effort will come in week 4.

Gotta get back on track and focus on my goal of getting in great shape for my family, and myself.  While I gained a couple of pounds back, I also picked up a new focus, fully understanding what got me where I am.

Watch out for a great week this week.

Wes, I am at the same place. Did great all day, then Krispy Kreme was calling my name! Have not had soda (yet) today and am going to shoot for water only. Finding balance in eating, as in life, is really, really difficult. It’s easy to go overboard either way, being too strict or too lax. Right now, I’m trying to find crunchy/sweet/salty things I can eat that give me the feeling of having a cookie without the caloric dent in my day. The best thing I’ve discovered recently is melting 5 or 6 cacao chips (I buy 60% cacao), crushing a handful of rice chex, then rolling a banana around in that. It is crunchy, sweet, and if you put a little Old Bay on it, salty all in one. It’s that mouth feel thing that is so satisfying. Good luck, don’t give up!

I’ve found that I can’t cut out sugar per se, but I can focus on healthier options, like juices and such, rather than sodas. And of course kicking up the water intake as well. You’re mix of cacao, rice chex and a banana with some old bay is…well interesting to say the least! Very creative.

It’s a fun journey that is a true challenge. Glad to have someone to chat with on the journey. Hopefully we can help each other reach our goals.
