SEO Losing Weight Day 2: Not Soooo Bad…

So, here we are on day two, and it’s not so bad.  Yesterday I ate well, got to the gym, and took my vitamins.  All in all, I’d say it was a successful day one.  The one thing I’m sure will be tough though is the breaking from Caffeine.  This lack of soda is going to be the roughest on me, and I’m sure will lead to some serious rethinking of this initiative this week.

If you know some great ideas on how to clear caffeine out of my system with ease, I’d love to hear them!  Please feel free to pass them along.  I’m sure that will be a huge challenge, and I may have to sneak in a Hershey bar before the day is over.

On todays agenda is more healthy eating and a lap around the “Path To Health” at my office.  It’s a 1 mile walk around the campus I work on, and I think it’s going to be a great resource for me on the days I can’t get to the gym.  Keeping myself moving, that’s the key.  More calories out than go in.

I find trying to get rid of any addiction is rough. for foods I recomend eating your regular meal drinking lots of water throughout the day and if you’ve been good and really craving something treat yourself 1x a week after you are full from your meal so you don’t have the urge to overindulge. It has worked so far for me. I also keep a food journal so I can see just how much I really am eating and drinking.

I am working on cutting soda out also. I ditched the diet stuff a few months ago, and felt better almost immediately. However, made the mistake of allowing regular soda, which not only keeps me on caffeine, but adds the ugly stepsister of caffeine, sugar. I am drinking a lot of water these days and down to 1-2 cokes a day, but headaches are bugging me.

I am training for the Pittsburgh Triathlon (adventure race — which is kayak instead of swim) end of July. I find it helpful to have a goal *other* than losing weight. How fast can I go and how far is much more positive than how much do I weigh.

Good luck, I am right there with you, buddy!

I’ve found that cutting the soda, and using advil or tylenol to deal with the headache is the easiest way to get away from the Caffeine. It’s bad for a couple of days, but after that, your body gets used to life without the caffeine. Both the sugar and the caffeine aren’t great for the body, so I’m working to keep them off as such.

A mighty goal you’ve set for yourself. I’m thinking of adding some specific physical accomplishments, but haven’t decided on those that I want to move ahead with.
